Mr. Knox has been with the Firm since 1980 and has over 33 years of professional experience. He provides tax, business and financial advice to closely-held businesses in various industries and their owners. He also has extensive experience in income tax planning for closely held businesses and their owners, estate planning and succession planning. In addition, he provides tax consulting services utilized in mergers, acquisitions, divisions and liquidations of various business entities.
Mr. Knox is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). As a member of the NYSSCPA, he has served as Suffolk County Chapter President and as chairperson of the General Taxation Committee.
In connection with AVZ’s Wealth Management entity, Mr. Knox is a registered representative who has passed the FINRA Series 7 and NASAA Series 66 exams. He also holds a New York State Life and Health Insurance License.Along with other licensed partners and advisors, Mr. Knox is instrumental in helping the Firm’s clients manage their investment assets and helps them to plan for college education needs, retirement, and other family planning issues. He is the managing member of AVZ Wealth Management, LLC.
Mr. Knox has lectured on various tax topics for professional and financial organizations such as the NYSSCPA, Suffolk Academy of Law and the Suffolk County Estate Planning Council. He has also appeared on Cablevision’s information station to answer viewer tax questions. He holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Art Degrees from Hofstra University.
